LA TANYA HORACE

A.K.A. SISTAH LUV


La Tanya hails from the dirty south and by the age of 3 was singing in her family church choir, by the age of 9 sang in school and church choirs. La Tanya moved to the Seattle area in the early eighties sang in the Total Experience Gospel choir and played the flute in middle school.


In the early 90’s La Tanya was introduced to a trio by the name of Fate’l she became apart of the group and they recorded a demo that landed an opening gig for JOE in Portland when he first came on the scene. The group Fate’l disbanded and became the duo Fate’l and recorded another demo, took it on the road to shop at various music conventions such as; Jack the Rapper in Florida 93’ and the Gavin in San Francisco in 94’.

In 95’ La Tanya traveled to Japan where she performed with a Motown Review for several months in the cities of Yokohama and Roppongi. It was in Japan that she met and played with some of the legends in music such as the Drifters, Stevie Wonders band.

In 96’ the group landed several opportunities for a record contract and finally signed with Longevity Records a subsidy of SEMA. Fate’l recorded an album with this label in 96’ the label folded soon after it was done and the group disbanded.


La Tanya soon began playing with in a duo by the name of Two the Max. They played for several years around the Seattle area.


In 98’ La Tanya joined a Rock/Reggae Band which played all over the North West for several years opening for the likes of Michael Rose, Black Uhuru, Steel Pulse, Ekk a Mouse, Spearhead, Shine Head, Sistah Carol and many others.


In 2002 La Tanya began playing with Hit Explosion a Northwest disco band that played many corporate events for clients such as Microsoft, Boeing, the Detleft Shrimp auction and many other high profile events. This high energy disco band also opened for Ohio Players, Michael McDonald and others.

Since that time La Tanya has played in local bands headlining for the likes of Malcolm Jamal Warner, the Candy Man newly released artist from LA, L. Young and other recording artist on the scene.


La Tanya loves to write and collaborates with other local artist so you might be surprised where you might see her playing at but always with a smile and a love of music in her heart.
