A&E | Multiple Streams of Income

A Conversation with My Uber Driver…A young man talking about multiple streams of income. He shared with with me about what he is doing to create opportunities for himself. I had this same conversation with a young hip hop artist a few years back.

#motivation #inspiration #education

Information can come from sources you may not see coming. Listen to the messenger. #multiplesourcesofincome | #arts & #entertainment | Make sure you have multiple streams of income.

During the long stretch of living under the umbrella of The Pandemic of Covid. Many lost their jobs, opportunities and financial security.

I was listening to a couple of podcast on starting a home base base and ways to create multiple streams of income.

As I age, you know that 60+ category, I don’t want to continue to work for someone else and I want to have time to build LadyFlavaNews as a Brand and Business. I do recognize that I need to have multiple streams of income to build from.

I’m opening up the conversation with my children on starting a home base family business.

I want to encourage you to. There are so many forms of easy business you can start with no money or very little startup capital.

Work from home opportunities:

-Arts & Crafts

-Arts & Entertainment Business

-Services

-E-Books

-Informational PDF

-Social Media Influencer

-Uber Driver

The possibilities are endless.

I’ve thought about it and talked about it, but sadly I have not taken action to the extent as I could have.

After reflecting on my conversation with one of my Uber Drivers, I am encouraged to step up and create another form of income for myself.

What are you good at and can you turn that into a home base business. Think about and then research

Create A Project Calendar

I’m a prettier organized person I’m all aspects of my life. I have created tools to help keep me on point daily. From alarms to help me track time, because I can easy get caught up in__________, where I loose track of time. To calendar alerts on my phone, along with physical calendars on my walls, by my desk, in my living room and bedroom.

When working on a my own project, I create a project proposal/plan. Then I create a project calendar to help stay on point for myself and those involved.

I would recommend that to create a system to help make you accountable to yourself when wanting to accomplish something by a certain timeframe.

Accountability to yourself and others can equal success to make it to the final completion of your project.

Now, as we enter a new week and a new year…consider creating your project calendar.

Do you know what they think about what you do?

Do you know what people think about what you do?

Many of us have been doing what we do for some time now. Years, right? And the thought comes to mind, I wish I was ________.

I think this is a good time to stop and make a pros and cons list. What’s working and what’s not.

It’s time to be honest, possibly gets some feedback from industry people you respect. Then I would even say get feedback from people who attend your events or patronize your business.

Now write on one side of a piece of paper what appears to be working and then the other side what’s not working. Again, be honest with yourself.

If you are publicly doing something, I imagine you want it to grow. You want it to create revenue to possibly allow you financial freedom that you call the shots on and level up.

So, your biggest resource of your why it’s working or its not, are the people response by attending and purchasing. You need to find a way to get their feedback.

– Create an anonymous survey in person or online

– Ask people to write reviews

Use their feedback to help develop your next move.

As they say, “knowledge is power.”

Do you know what they think about what you do?

It’s Time To Find Out…

– Be honest with yourself

– Be able to receive honest feedback

– Be able to take what you come up with, along with others feedback to formulate a plan of action

– Take Action sooner than later

– It doesn’t have to be perfect, but you should always be evolving.

A&E Mission Statement

First posted 11/27/2019

Attn: #Artists & #Entertainers … What’s Your #MissionStatement … Do You Have One? #ThinkAboutIt #CreateOne #Rewrite Your Current, If Need Be #Start The #NewYear #Focused and on A #Mission 😊 What’s in a mission statement?

A good mission statement will describe the answers to the following basic business planning questions of what your art business is all about. Make sure your mission statement answers these five questions:

What do we do?
Why we do it?
How do we do it?
For whom do we do it?
What benefits do you provide?
Your mission statement can be one sentence or perhaps a few paragraphs, whatever works best for you. Remember that your mission statement should serve to guide your business over a fairly long period of time, typically several years or more. That is not to say that your mission statement won’t change over time. You may need to change your mission statement or risk becoming irrelevant or worse yet out of business. It is a good idea to review your mission statement periodically to make sure that it reflects the direction you want to go. #NeilMcKenzie

When we take the steps professionally to outline our purpose, it helps to determine if we are prepared or where we are lacking.

Identify your why and if it relevant and relatable.

Then write your 1st mission state (even if you rewrite it over and over on your professional journey as a creative soul.

Stop and Listen To God..The Shift

I had to make some hard decisions, which put me in a position to now experience life differently.

It took me a long time to get here, but now I feel peace in my spirit and my passion is returning to my original passion of being involved with creative soulz.

With these changes, some unforeseen blessings are coming my way through my blogs and even on Facebook.

Lesson learned, stop when things feel uncomfortable and talk to God. When you get really quiet, you can hear what he is saying. Then you are free to move with new found courage and purpose.

Do you need to Stop and get quiet with God? He’s waiting for you with open arms.

Yes, I am a Christian 🙏

Michael Baisden posted this on Facebook

And this was my response on his post:

“I’m finally there! I have want to help inspire, motivate and educate people…but many don’t want to receive growth. I’ve had to step back and respect where they are.”

I’m feel like I became one of these people, because of the people I was connected to. This is not not my character and I knew it was time to get quiet.

Oops … The Shift ✔️✔️ There’s no growth in an environment like this…mindset.

What do you feel about this post?

I Learned A New Word, “ Sonder”

sonder

n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway, as a lighted window at dusk.

This a great word. Interesting and thought provoking.

New Word 🤔

Wiser-Stronger-Better

When you let go, you free yourself to become a better version of you. 🙏

Sometimes we have to step back, breathe and embrace our authentic self. I feel many times we can loose ourselves amongst the craziness of what we allow ourselves to be exposed to. Falling into a place of fitting into a space that we were never meant to fit into.

No matter your age, you can STOP and evaluate how your life is playing out and it feels right, feels healthy…or do you need a shift.

At my age of 60+, I embrace the opportunity to spend time with myself, identify what’s working and what’s not…then the shift can take place.

So many quotes like the above one, are circulating around on the different social medias. Of course, I’ve been aware of the concept for years…but then there’s that BUT…falling into an unhealthy place without realizing it.

I am very self aware and my spirit was struggling with what I was exposed to…and the boundaries started to be set. I knew it had to shift when my passion for my purpose was dimming and the joy was getting to the point of being nonexistent.

This is when God kept whispering in my ear…”It’s time to Shift.” And I started the process to do just that.

I had gotten away from my excitement around experiencing New Art…the surprise and anticipation of the creative unknown. I became board with what I have been exposed to, it was the same thing over and over…very predictable.

This was eating at my spirit and I knew, I knew I had to stop and regroup. It’s time to get quiet and spend time with God. This is where I am right now. Yet, I still stay active on the different social medias in my own way.

I want to prove to myself that I can turn this around and get excited again in showing my support for indie creative soulz. I want my girls to see me live in my purpose once again. I desire to connect with people in the arts and entertainment community around the world once again, building sincere win wins.

I’m becoming Wiser-Stronger-Better…and I will emerge once again with a pure desire to be The Indie Artist’s Cheerleader…finding my approach to share my thoughts, stories and knowledge around building a path to grow once again in this exciting, yet challenging industry.

The Power of 60+

Views and Reach on Social Media

I’ve had several conversations with people about the Views and Reach on Posts on Facebook. Of course we prefer to have people acknowledge our posts with a Like, Heart & Commitment…and true enough that means more in direct engagement…but don’t discount the Views and Reach.

Do you know what Views & Reach means on Facebook? (It means the same on other social medias)

Even if you do not receive a like, heart or comment…It still means that people are seeing your posts and you never know where it can go from there.

Stay consistent and build your brand…people are watching and…

My Passion is Indie Arts & Entertainment

My Passion and Purpose is to be committed to supporting Creative SoulZ of all genres and art forms. I love creativity. I cannot imagine life without creativity being experienced everyday.

Could you imagine what life would be like without ART?

I’m 2003, I built a coffee house “Flava Coffee House” in North Seattle, WA. I had goals and dreams for what Flava could represent in this community that need a place to embrace the diversity of this community and provide a safe haven for creative soulz. It happened, but financially it struggled, so 5 years later I made the hard decision to close her doors.

Flava is my foundation in falling in love with creative soulz. MySpace to Facebook introduced me to local talents, National and International talents. I became hooked. The plotting and planning was what I thought about day and night, how can I help these talents gain my exposure.

From my coffee house, book reviewing, Jazz cruise, literary conference, to LadyFlavaNews…HipHop events, internet radio, Artist Consultant, promotions and more… that has been just some of the experiences on my creative journey.

Moving to Vegas and experiencing some amazingly people, I realize that I craved to hear some original music. This does not take away from the talents in Vegas, I just want to be surprised by something fresh and new to me.

I write blogs and do vlogs in hopes to share my thoughts, industry knowledge and stories of my life as a person in the exciting and challenging industry.

Everything I write and talk about, foundation is for creative soulz, but I’ve come to realize that my sharing can go beyond arts and entertainment. I now embrace that.

As I continue on the journey of being apart of the arts and entertainment industry, I redefine my path as internally explore and plot & plan my next move.

Supporting and providing some form of platform will always exist. It’s my ministry. Sometimes life positions us to make a shift. Now I embrace “shifts,” it’s like a mini new beginning.

Now, I’m getting back to what moves my soul. I will always appreciate great talents and their journey. I’m seeking balance in what I experience. Seeking a newness in how I absorb the creativity I am presented.

It’s time to clear my mind and be open… find the joy in creativity to the point of craving it again.

Won’t you join me on this journey? Do you love indie creative soulz and original authentic art like I do?

Let’s Connect 😁
