About Lady Flava
A Journey of Passion, Purpose, and Personal Evolution
UPDATE | 2025
In June 2023, I returned to my hometown of Seattle, WA, after six transformative years in Las Vegas. My time in the desert taught me many lessons, but it also left me spiritually and emotionally depleted. Coming home was a conscious choice—to heal, reconnect with my roots, and reimagine my next chapter, both personally and as Lady Flava.
As I continue this journey of renewal, I share my reflections through blogs and conversations—the thoughts of a 60+ seasoned soul navigating life with grace, curiosity, and honesty. While my love for the arts still lives in my spirit, I’ve stepped away from my role as an industry professional. I’m now embracing new expressions of creativity, wellness, and soulful storytelling.

The Legacy of Lady Flava News
Lady Flava News was born in February 2007, emerging from the vibrant community of Flava Coffee House (Seattle, 2003–2008). Founded and nurtured by me, Susan Koshi—known publicly as Lady Flava—this space quickly became a haven for eclectic artists and creative expression. It began with a jazz cruise under the name “On The 1 Productions” and blossomed into a movement.
At Flava Coffee House, I hosted weekly “Flava of Expression” open mic nights and curated visual art from underrepresented creatives. My passion extended into literature, becoming a respected book reviewer focused on African American self-published authors. In 2008, I hosted a national literary conference with support from the Seattle Mayor’s Office of Culture & Arts.
Though the coffee house closed in 2008, the heartbeat of its mission lived on through Lady Flava News (LFN) and LFN Radio. My radio journey began in 2009 with The Mosaic Show, later renamed FCH206 Radio, highlighting independent artists and thought leaders from around the world. I became known not only as a creative cheerleader but as a guide—offering artist coaching, consulting, and meaningful connections to move their visions forward.
A Shift in Purpose
In 2017, I moved to Las Vegas to build an indie arts presence in the Entertainment Capital. I collaborated with Marlex Records and partnered with industry professionals, including a Grammy Award-winning producer. Though I poured myself into the music scene, over time, I realized that my calling was shifting.
Now, my focus is turning inward. I am embracing wellness, exploring my personal truth, and reconnecting with the simplicity and depth of storytelling. My dream of “Flava’s Lounge” still lives in my heart, and maybe one day it will bloom. For now, I’m listening to life and showing up where I’m needed most—with care, honesty, and intention.
Let’s Stay Connected
Whether you’re here for inspiration, insight, or simply a pause in your day—you are welcome in this space.
Lady Flava Wellness is my next chapter. One rooted in peace, purpose, and presence.
Flava is a taste, a style, a feeling… What’s your flava?

Warmly,
Susan “Lady Flava” Koshi
