A&E | If We Can’t Build Together…Please Don’t Ask #winwins only

How many of you are over the One Sided connections?

As I transition into the next chapter of my life as Lady Flava, I will be more mindful of how I maneuver what I do and if and what I do with others.

I witnessed and experienced great talents that hustle to get what they want done with whomever has skills and the means to help get what they need. Now this does not mean they are building with the people they need in that moment or moments…the hustle is real and be sure that you are clear with what you are going to get out of it and be at peace.

Many people with needs do not have a large budget to work from and have to decide who is the biggest need to budget into to the value of the desired outcome. You may not be on the list to fit into the budget, so what is the next best thing to being paid for your talents and or services? Don’t be afraid to ask for what you need outside of payment.

There are a variety of ways to build with others, who you cannot afford to pay or do not place as a valued deal breaker for your project but still have a need.

This is a subject I have thought about and talked about many many times over the years…many say they understand and agree while still do not embark on creating a win win for their needed team.

Everyone should save money to create a budget, or find sponsors or investors to help the project come to life and happen. This should be established way before the project launches.

When there is limited resources but a need to have participant and help, keep your project small and manageable with an invested committed team until you can do it on a large scale. Be smart and polish the product:project and build from there.

We all have had dreams, without the financial means to pull it off the way we envisioned it to be presented…but we can always start small and grow it into our vision and dream.

So who do you build with and what is the benefit for those you need on your team. How can you build a win win for those you need on your team.

First find people who:

-Believe in your project with passion and vision

-Make sure they have a skill that brings value to what you need

-Is reliable and committed

-Is able to be available for development and execution of the project

-Final…find people that will agree to your terms and what you have to offer in return.

What can you offer your needed team:

-An agreeable payment for services or talent

-Public acknowledgement of the role the play with the talent or skills the provided for your project

-Promote what they do; business or skills that can lead to possible future paying opportunities from others.

-Publicly saying thank you for their roles in making your project come to life or even privately making them feel valued and appreciated

Always seek to build win wins, or take the chance of burning bridges.

FYI: Have the ability to create a budget to help offset you financial needs. This is necessary. Also, create value and interest in your project in hopes that your needed people will want to agree to being apart. Have the personality to establish solid connections with the means to keep your team satisfied and committed.

Never make promises you cannot keep. Your word is your bond. Never lead people on as if something is going to happen that you cannot guarantee. Be honest from the get go…honesty is truly the best policy, that gives people the opportunity to make a clear decision if they want to commit to what you are asking of them.

It’s your project, so you are responsible for what the culture will look like for what a successful outcome looks like.

If you cannot guarantee a positive and valuable outcome for your needed team, don’t ask them to participate.

Always, always find a way that your team feels good to be on your team and will step up to see it succeed.

In the future of what projects I create or participate in, I will be honest on how committed I will be and first of all if I am willing to attach my name and skills to it. And the final must is that I feel good about my why.
