60+ | To Receive or To Share Knowledge

Throughout my life I witnessed my elders gathering knowledge, and in return they also shared this knowledge with those around them. Lifting up their environment, their community to grow and flourish.

What happened to those days? It seems to be a time where people do not want to listen to you unless you are seen in some form of spotlight, have a following or branded well.

You can tell when someone knows the industry that they are apart or have lived life experiences directly or indirectly that they can share information, knowledge, wisdom.

Who wants to benefit from their journey and if you are that person are you willing to share. That’s the other part, who is willing to share what they know.

I came from a time and place that my elders pulled my coattail when then felt I needed guidance. I chose to be around people who would share information with me. I love to be challenged, even if I get frustrated. I have always known that there is more to being educated on something I need to know or what to know.

A lesson I had to accept and learn…Some people don’t want to hear the information that you feel would be beneficial to them. Some people are comfortable in just doing things the way they have always done things. When you recognize the resistance, it’s better to not push it and step back and let go of wanting to share what you feel will help them.

I wonder why so many people have become so stuck in a box mentality and don’t want to take a risk at trying to learn something new or try a different approach.

Do you receive help, encouragement or guidance or do you resist it.? Do you want to share what you who to help others grow and to become more knowledgeable?
