Are you creating Music that people are creating Memories to?

As I process Art and Creativity…I think about how to make sense of what stands out and captures my attention, what keeps my attention.

I came from a city the thrives off of cover songs and the oldies but goodie’s…

I was talking to a Legends sister one day about events where we were and the why people attend and what stands out musically. She told me that she likes hearing music she knows over music she doesn’t know. I was so surprised, but appreciated the honesty. She told me she has to prepare herself to go to an event if she knew she wouldn’t be familiar with the music. I get it because I found I was doing the same when I knew I would hear music I have heard over and over.

The funny thing is, the covers, classics, the oldies but goodie’s were created and experienced in a way that we did create memories to them. I could tell you who I was or where I was when I first heard a song. We played songs over and over I owe memorized the lyrics. The good old days. 🎶

I love hearing music that I don’t know and grabs my attention…but even at that it’s not like the days of having a hard copy where you listened to a project in your car or at home.

Indie Music…Authentic, Original…but does it stand out…is the music that is being created today that music you want to party to, make love to, experience life to?

Are you creating Music that people are creating Memories to?

Who’s talking about having a digital download?

Of course there are people that are creating playlists…maybe of the classics, maybe the blend some new indie sounds.

Then the mainstream that create the songs that are experienced in a variety of ways. We learn the words and start singing along the more we hear them…We create the mainstream’s popularity. Think about it 🤔

So why can’t we give some amazing talents more opportunities to be experienced and positioned for more exposure like the mainstream that get the hits based off of a brand first and our willingness to pay attention.

Streams and creative marketing can position creative musicians for more…but is that enough?

Who is creating that song…that music that you play at your family barbecues, reunions, gatherings? Who’s Music that is created Today are you wanting to have as your marital first dance, or to walk down the aisle to?

Let’s talk about this. Can you help me understand what happened to the value of music and how music from the non mainstream is used.

I still believe in Supporting Original Quality Indie Music that Grabs my attention and worthy of sharing.
