60+ | Life’s Experiences

I believe that everything is about an experience.  I do feel since I am an Empath (a feeler) that I experience this much differently than most people, but still in that isn’t it the experience that really stands out for all of us?

I think many times we don’t always pay attention to the experience of things…such as the traffic on the freeway, a conversation with a loved one, how a new music piece makes us feel.  So much in life we tend to overlook and not stop to see how it makes us feel, even though it may not be at the forefront of our mind, there is a part of us that can recall it if put in a position to.   The atmosphere of a restaurant and how the food tastes, even the service that was given is an experience.  When going to a show, the atmosphere, stage setting, lighting, talents, outfits, musicians, sound system, where your seat is and more contribute to the experience for that event.

When I was doing radio and received new music for airplay consideration…I would sit with my eyes closed and headphones and listen to every piece of music and in the end as I critique it…the most important thing was, how did it make me feel.  Music is so powerful in how we experience so much in life.  We listen while driving in the car or have a playlist for when we workout or go for a walk.  At night I tend to play something that has a soft sound, that’s calming to help me wind down before sleep.

Conversations, I realized more and more that I truly appreciate when I am engaged in conversation and the other person or persons are fully engaged.  I love a good back and forth conversation that if fun or even challenging.  When you know that you are dialoguing with someone who if fulling listening and responding is an experience that I fully appreciate.

From moments with loved ones, to grocery shopping, watching tv, purchasing art or clothing…it’s all about an experience.  How many times have we seen an advertisement that lures us to want to step up and try something?  That advertisement created the interest to step into the experience.

When we meet a new person, that first impression is an experience to determine if we want to experience more.

The weather, the sounds we hear and the things we smell create an experience…even if we don’t realize it.

How do you experience life?

What stands out for you?

What do you think you don’t pay attention to but if you were asked, you could give an answer?

From time to time, think about how something or someone makes you feel…this is part of you life that you should be more in tune with. Okay, at least that is my opinion.😊 Then maybe find creative ways to share your experiences.
