Your life without a computer: what does it look like?

Now I am not sure if this is saying to just go without a computer, or to go without technology and the internet?
Now if this is asking what I would do without a computer…that is no problem, so much can be done on a cellphone, evening writing a blog…but to do with out internet and technology, that is a different story.
I come from a generation before technology, no internet, computers, tablets, and cell phones….I remember our pass time was visiting friends, watching tv and going to affordable concerts. We talked on the phone without caller id and a busy signal.
To be honest, as I ponder this question, “What would I do without a computer and what does it look like?”
I feel that I was more connected to people back and going outside of my home in the day before technology more than I am today.

As I am writing this…I find how much I am reliant on technology, researching information, googling all sorts of information. When I was coming up, my parents owned encyclopedias, dictionaries, and thesaurus. I would walk to the local library to check out books with my library card. This is where I would do my research for school projects and pick a book for my reading pleasure. So, I would visit the library more.

So, if life was to change and I would have to do without the internet and technology,

I would:
- Get reconnected with people in person.
- I may bring back Sunday dinners.
- I would go outside more and sit by Lake Washington and drive somewhere to explore and be in nature or see sites that are new or places I have not been in a while.
- I would read the books that I have sitting around that I have never opened.
- I would go to the movie theater.
- I would journal.
- I would find a place that I would want to commit to volunteering at.
- I would start a garden.
It’s so funny when I look at the list of things that I would do if we had no internet of technology, it all stuff that I really could do not in this era of technology that we are living in…I do think technology can create an illusion that we are more connected and don’t need to see people face to face. I am now wondering if I amore tired because I work on a computer all day and have access to so much through my iPhone. I have heard studies say that we are more distracted and less focused when we engage on social media and all…but I am wondering if this is why I feel more tired. Something to ponder on.
