A&E | Once Upon A Time…Music Was A Valued Art

I come from a Generation that valued music. We listened to the radio to hear our favorite music, to learn when music would be released. We went to record stores and had record players. We actually owned music and valued with pride and excitement to have it in our possession.

Now days music is streamed and we no long go to record stores, we no longer own music that we can see and touch.

I have never heard someone say they just bought a digital download of mainstream artist, let alone an indie artist.

There are so many ways music can be experienced and for it to be pirated.

There are unending people creating and few being recognized as worthy, and even those who are being recognized are not necessarily worthy.

Has the Value of Music been lost?
