60+ | I Am My Daddy’s Daughter (but life has shifted)

I am my Daddy’s Daughter…

He always spoke his Truth, even if it made people uncomfortable…

I do not lay down and let people disrespect…

If something can be done more effectively, I will speak up…

I try to see things from several perspectives to make sense of the why…

I am not a follower, I do things the way God places it in my soul…

I am not perfect, but I am not fake…

I am my daddy’s daughter 🙏

I was just having a conversation last night with my God Sister…we came from a foundation when our parents and their associates and colleagues were doers and highly respected people in our community. We came up with a solid understanding of right and wrong, along with the value of serving others.

We discussed how we fit into the world as it is known today, and we both find that we do not go out amongst people like we once did.

I believe we both find solid value in how we were raised. But what once was a life of service, is not as freely given now. We both have stepped back and spend more time at home.

Is it because of Covid or have we just become burnt out because of the mentality the lacks real connection and sincerity. So many people are more concern maintaining their worlds…at the expenses of ____________.

Who we once were has now shifted in the world as we know it today. We still are influenced by our upbringing, but the world resists who we are or were. Now we limit people’s access to us and enjoy a life at home with our families.

I believe that I am beginning to crave to get out and experience life in the Pacific Northwest. I want to explore what feels right beyond my blog writing.

I still believe this is my story. It’s time to identify my direction in this chapter of Lady Flava.
