60+|My Birthday Eve Refection

🖤 When One Moment Feels Bigger Than Me

By Lady Flava | Birthday Eve Reflection

As I stand on the edge of turning 65, I find myself reflecting — not just on the years behind me, but on the moments that have shaped who I am today.

I’ve been told I’m kind.

That I bring peace into the room.

That I advocate for those who need a voice.

And I’ve believed that… because it’s who I’ve always tried to be.

But recently, one brief mistake…

one small lapse in judgment…

seemed to overshadow everything I’ve stood for.

In that moment, the warmth I’ve built with patients, coworkers, and doctors —

the trust, the consistency, the calm I’ve worked so hard to maintain —

it all felt like it didn’t matter.

Like my character was dismissed in an instant.

Like I had become a stranger in a place I once felt safe.

And that… broke something in me.

But here’s what I know now — and what I carry into this next year of life:

🌿 My worth is not measured by one moment.

My truth is not defined by someone else’s reaction.

And my character is not undone by a single slip.

Because what I consistently bring — love, calm, kindness, and service —

that is stronger than anything anyone can twist.

I’ve owned my mistake.

I’ve grieved the shift.

And yet…

I’m still standing.

Still caring.

Still me.

This birthday, I choose to let go of the weight I’ve carried.

I choose to honor myself — not just the soft, sunny parts, but the wounded, tired ones too.

I choose to believe that one moment will not define my legacy.

Because my heart, my care, my presence —

they have always been real.

🌻 Birthday Affirmation:

I honor the woman I’ve been, forgive the moments I’ve stumbled, and rise into the woman I’m still becoming. I am not broken — I am becoming.
