✨ “I Write to Remember What We’ve Possibly Forgotten”
There are days I walk out of my workplace and say to myself:
“Leave work at work.”
It’s not always easy—but writing with you helps me do just that.
Writing helps me process.
Writing helps me remember.
Writing helps me reclaim peace in a world that sometimes forgets how to be kind.
We live in a time where people listen to respond—not to understand.
We react instead of receive. We’re distracted, protective, distant.
Sometimes it feels like the world is full of chaotic connections—and yet I believe most of us are just desperate to feel connected.
When I was coming up, things were different.
We knew our neighbors by name.
We greeted each other in passing.
We looked out for one another—not out of fear, but love.
Now I watch my children, in their thirties and forties, and my teenage grandbaby, and I wonder—what happened to “I am my brother’s keeper?”
I shouldn’t have to feel afraid to walk to the store or the bus stop.
I shouldn’t have to talk about getting a gun for protection.
But this is the world we’re in.
Still, I wave to drivers who let me merge.
I greet strangers.
I try to look people in the eye and say: I see you.
Because that’s what we’re missing most—the feeling of being seen.
So I write.
I write to make sense of it all.
I write to let go.
I write to feel free.
And maybe… just maybe… something I write will reach someone else who feels the same way.
Maybe that is what I’m meant to do at 65.
Not fix the world.
But write about it.
Share it.
And keep the light on for anyone who needs to find their way home.
This… this is a beautiful way to connect.

🌱 A Gentle Challenge From My Heart to Yours
If you’ve read this far, I want to invite you into something simple—something powerful.
Let’s commit to showing one small act of kindness each day.
It could be a wave. A smile. A warm “good morning.” A moment of eye contact that says, “I see you.”
Because life, even in its pain, is still trying to bloom.
And maybe we are the petals—opening slowly, reaching toward the light, ready to shine again.
Let’s help the world bloom by being gentle with each other.
One small kindness at a time. 💛
