Blog Challenge|60+|What Bothers You

What bothers you and why?

I’m Bothered, But I’m Growing

What bothers me?

Let’s start with the simple stuff.

People who don’t refill the printer paper.

Folks who leave one sheet of toilet paper and call it “not empty.”

Passive-aggressive emails signed with “Thanks!” when they really mean “I’m annoyed.”

And yes, gas prices that make me second guess every trip Poopsie and I take.

But when I get quiet with myself, I realize the deeper things that truly rattle my spirit.

I’m bothered by people who show up in a space but don’t really show up for others.

By those who listen to reply, but never to understand.

By workplaces that preach teamwork but thrive off division.

By fake kindness—the kind that masks judgment with a smile.

And by environments that say they’re inclusive…as long as you don’t show up too loud, too proud, or too different.

I’ve lived long enough to recognize that being bothered isn’t always a bad thing.

It shows me where my boundaries are.

It reminds me of what I value: authenticity, compassion, and shared respect.

And while I may still get frustrated by the little things (like people who press “reply all” with no purpose 😒), I’ve learned to take a breath, observe, and protect my peace.

Because what bothers me doesn’t have to break me.

I acknowledge it.

I grow from it.

And I carry on with love… and maybe a little leopard print armor.
