30 Things That Make Me Happy
(WordPress Prompt Challenge)
Happiness lives in the big, bold moments and the tiny, quiet ones. Sometimes it’s as simple as a good nap or a strong cold brew, and other times it’s the people (and fur babies!) who fill my heart. Here are 30 things that never fail to make me smile:
Life
– the gift of waking up each day. My family, my roots, my everything. The cats: Mustang & Lamborghini, my furry little characters. My Peace – that rare, sacred feeling of calm. When 4 PM hits on Friday (because YES, weekend!). A chai latte with oat milk when I need cozy warmth. A dragon fruit lemonade when I want something refreshing. A vanilla cold brew for those days that require strength (thank you, Starbucks downstairs). My fuzzy leopard print blanket – pure comfort. Stir-fry veggies and rice, a simple and healthy joy. Fruit, especially when it’s perfectly sweet. A crisp, fresh salad. Mixed nuts – the perfect snack. Watching the sunset over West Seattle – pure magic. Seeing the Blue Angels roar overhead during Seafair. When a nurse or CNA from Vegas reaches out – the memories run deep. Painting my toes, because it feels like self-love. Shaving my legs – silky smooth bliss. Having a good bowel movement (let’s be real – happiness IS that). Writing blogs and pouring my heart onto the page. When Bean decides to share her sassy thoughts with the world. Seeing someone comment on one of my blogs – it’s a connection. Learning Pinterest (and feeling like I’m winning the internet). Jessica – my therapist, writing guru, and partner in creative crime. Poopsie, my road dog and loyal ride-or-die. Naps – because sometimes sleep is the best therapy. Sleeping so well that I drool all over the pillow (yep, pure satisfaction). Sunflowers – my forever happy flower. Leopard print anything (you already know this is part of my soul). Good vibes and big smiles – the real currency of joy.
Closing Thought:
Happiness doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s a warm drink, a soft blanket, a sweet sunset, or the quiet moment you realize you are exactly where you’re meant to be.
