The Subtle Power of a Lighthouse
Just twenty minutes from where I live stands the Alki Point Lighthouse. I haven’t toured it yet, but I hope to one day. Even from a distance, it feels special—like a quiet guardian watching over the water.

A Family Connection
Lighthouses have always carried meaning in my life. My parents loved them, and my old business partner Marc spent years photographing them as he traveled with his group. For him, it was about capturing beauty. For me, it has always been about the story each lighthouse holds.
A Symbol in Stories
I’m drawn to tales that unfold around lighthouses. Stories of guiding ships through storms, families building lives on rugged coastlines, romances where the beam of light becomes a symbol of hope, or even haunted tales where the past seems to linger in the shadows of the tower. Each story reminds me that lighthouses are more than buildings—they are vessels of human history and imagination.
A Metaphor for Life
To me, lighthouses represent a subtle but undeniable power. They don’t chase ships or call for attention. They simply stand, steady and consistent, shining their light to guide others through the storm. Isn’t that what purpose in life looks like? Quiet strength. Steadfast presence. Serving a higher calling without the need for recognition.
Final Reflection
I believe lighthouses hold a lesson for us all: to stand in our truth, shine in our own way, and fulfill the purpose we’re called to—whether or not anyone is watching.
🌻 Closing Thought:
Like a lighthouse, your light may seem subtle, but it could be the very thing guiding someone through their storm.
