A Taste of Flava: Good Days Are Ahead
I’m realizing how important it is for me to stay as independent as I can while living with chronic pain. I try to do almost everything in my tower by myself. Some days, I just need to take it slow and do a little at a time. Most things, I can still manage on my own.
And when I need help, I’m learning to ask my grandbaby. I’ve decided to hire her for certain things that are beyond what I can do right now. To me, that’s a win-win: she earns some money, and I get the help I need with the harder tasks.
She already brings my dinner up, brings in the mail and packages, and takes out my trash and recycling. I’m extremely grateful for her.
I’ve always been the kind of person who doesn’t want to feel like a burden or make anyone think I’m needy. But accepting a little help doesn’t take away my independence. I can keep doing what I’m able to do and get support with the things that are harder.
After a very painful week, I’m taking time to relax and look ahead. I’m looking forward to my future hip surgeries and to meeting my surgeon on Monday.
Good days are ahead of me. Hallelujah!
Many of us are going through hard times in different ways. I believe that when we hold on to hope, better days are ahead.
Happy Saturday,
From Flava in Her Tower 🌻
