Seasoned vs. Growing Season š±āØš»
Iāve been reflecting on the beauty of watching younger people step into their roles. They lean on each other, they grow together, and they find comfort in walking side by side as they learn. Itās their growing season.
And then thereās me. Iām seasoned. I carry years of lived experiences, lessons, and wisdom that canāt be taught in a handbook. Iāve tasted enough of life to know when somethingās missing. I see the āmissed seasoningsā that others may not notice yet.
Being seasoned means I bring depth. I know how to balance flavors, how to blend patience with urgency, and how to spot when the mix is off. It doesnāt mean Iām betterāit means Iāve lived long enough to know whatās needed to make the dish complete.
Sometimes, being seasoned can feel isolating. I notice things that others donāt, and I canāt always expect them to see it the way I do. Thatās okay. They are in their growing season, and I can let them grow together. My role is to honor my seasoning without feeling the need to sprinkle it everywhere.
Because the truth is: both seasons are needed. The fresh growth brings energy and hope. The seasoning brings depth and richness. Together, thatās what makes life flavorful.

A Sprinkle of Grace š»āØ
Being seasoned doesnāt just mean noticing whatās missingāit also means knowing when to add something extra. Today, I chose to sprinkle in grace.
One coworker lightened the moment with something funny, and I simply received it. Another apologized for not responding to my messages. I called her BabyGirl and told her I understood she was busy. I just pooled the messages for her to catch up later.
Grace is part of my seasoning. It keeps the peace and protects my spirit. Thatās the flavor I choose to bring.
