🐾 Bean’s Corner: A Most Curious Call

I was lounging by the phone today, minding my own whiskers, when Susan answered.

“Hello, this is Susan—how can I help you?”

Nothing unusual, right? Until the human on the other end said his name was… Sherlock Holmes.

My ears perked straight up. Did I hear that right? Sherlock Holmes, calling here? Surely he was phoning in a mystery—perhaps “The Case of the Missing Appointment Slot.”

Susan laughed (humans can’t help themselves), plugged his name into the system, and guess what? His name really was Sherlock Holmes!

I nearly fell off my imaginary desk perch. The great detective himself, making an appointment. Next thing you know, Dr. Watson will be checking vitals and Moriarty will be causing trouble in the waiting room.

Susan apologized for laughing, but Mr. Holmes was very kind—he said he’s used to the reaction. I say, if you carry a legendary name like that, you’ve already solved the mystery of how to make people smile.
