My Body Talks to the Weather
My body talks to the weather.
They are old friends,
having conversations of their own.
The weather whispers in my ear—
today… heads up.
Rain.
Cold.
A stiff breeze swirling around.
It’s like my body knows
what the weather is going to say
before she even says a word.
We have it like that—
that unusual understanding.
Or maybe it’s not unusual at all.
It’s in the whisper
that tells me how the day will play out.
I’m no longer surprised by her stories.
I feel every word,
every cadence.
The older I get,
weather visits me in a bolder way—
her tone undeniable.
No matter the season—
Winter,
Spring,
Summer,
Fall—
she always has a story to tell.
Some seasons, her stories are light and sweet.
Others…
loud,
disruptive.
The rhythm and dance we do
changes with her vibe,
her groove.
Weather is my valued friend,
and I anticipate her stories—
always.
