A Taste of Flava: When the Weather Gets Into My Hips
I missed my 11 o’clock post today. It’s 11:52, and the wind and rain have been making quite a racket against my south-facing windows.
It’s one of those stormy days when the trees are swaying and even the birds have to hold on tight. And my hips are feeling every bit of it. I know weather doesn’t affect everyone the same way, but I’ve noticed that cold, wet, windy days can turn the volume up on my pain. Sitting is especially hard right now.
I’ve been trying to manage the pain while also figuring out what options are safe for me. The nurse just called and said she’ll talk with the doctor about medication choices outside of NSAIDs, because of my kidney lab concerns. I’m grateful she called and is checking with the doctor. Now I’m waiting to hear what they recommend.
Some days don’t go by the clock or the plan we had in mind. I may be late sharing my story today, but I’m here—and that’s my taste of Friday.
