ATasteOfFlava| Peaceful Friday 🌻

Friday’s A Taste of Flava 🌻

Today is a lazy day, and honestly, I’m enjoying every bit of it. I’m lying in bed, listening to the rain and taking in the beautiful fall colors outside my window. It’s a cold, rainy day in Seattle, and there is something peaceful about enjoying it from the comfort of my bed.

I had a wonderful catch-up call with my friend—the same person who hired me three and a half years ago, before I moved back home from Vegas.

During our conversation, she told me a surprise was being delivered today. Of course, that had me curious. 👀

Then a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers arrived, with mini carnations and alstroemeria tucked in as accent flowers. 🌻

That warmed my heart. I didn’t even realize she knew I loved sunflowers, or that they are part of my writing brand. Somewhere along the way, she noticed and remembered.

And girl, we laughed! Laughter was a welcome guest in my conversation with “Mom.” Yes, she is twenty years younger than me, but I call her Mom, and she calls me Grandma. 🤣 Don’t ask me to make it make sense. It works for us.

My youngest daughter is stopping by after work for a short visit, too. So I have a little more love coming my way before the day is done.

Today feels like a perfect day. I’m rested, comfortable, and enjoying the peace in my tower. A good conversation, laughter, unexpected flowers, and time with my daughter—these are the things that make a day special.

But you know what? Even before the conversation and surprise delivery, I already felt like today would be a good day.

And so far, it has been. ❣️
