Grady Harrell & The Groove City Band at Muckleshoot Casino-Auburn, WA

As I was watching Sherry Gordy Presents Take The Stage Celebration for Marvin Gaye’s Birthday 4/2/15 on UStream (I am one of the Co-Hosts for SGP Take The Stage Cyber Parties)…I could hear a low volume interview being done with Grady Harrell on the red carpet…He mentioned Muckleshoot Casino and I was all ears but could not hear the other camera’s mic that was filming him. So I sent Grady a quick message and asked if he was coming to Muckleshoot or had he been here. Grady replied the next morning letting me know that he would be at Muckleshoot Casino that night, Friday 4/3/15 and Saturday 4/4/15 night. I knew I had to be there. I have only had the pleasure of seeing him perform on Sherry Gordy Presents Take The Stage events in Vegas during our SGP Cyber Parties, but never in person.

Friday night I get my family situated for the night and then headed down I-5 for about 45 minute drive, before I arrived at my destination. Parking was perfect and I found the Club Galaxy with no problem…(I had not been to this location for years.) There waiting for me was Kat and Valerie, two Facebook friends that I had never met. It is always a treat to meet someone in person, that you have only known online. It was clear that the ladies know Grady Harrell and have seen him perform several times before. But tonight would be my first night.

Let me tell you, it was a treat to see and experience this high energy band of true professional musicians and performers. Belting out the classic cover songs that everyone knows with a flair from The Groove City Band, which only they could bring…The night was magic, at least for me. The space filled quickly and many packed the dance floor to groove to and sing along with music covering several eras of sound.

Grady Harrell & The Groove City Band put on a topnotch show, giving the audience 3 sets of music and guess what, it cost nothing. To pay nothing for an experience like this was crazy to me, but I had to remind myself the money comes from the gambling…so thank you Gamblers for supporting quality acts to come to Muckleshoot Casino!

During the first break, Kat texted Grady to come out and meet me and he did. I had to take a quick picture with him to send to Sherry and Dariole Gordy to show that I actual met him…LOL

If you ever have the opportunity to see Grady Harrell perform on his own or with his band, The Groove City band…take advantage of it and tell him Lady Flava sent you 🙂

Heading home well past 1am with a long drive ahead of me…I was still smiling. If you understand professional artistry and entertainment…you would understand why.
