Are You Coachable?

I’ve been sitting on this for awhile…just trying to wrap my brain around how to approach this subject.

I love researching things, people, information and more. I truly believe that knowledge is power and I realize that I get myself stuck when I’m not growing. I will jump on Google and YouTube in a quick minute if I feel the need to be informed. Besides, I’m was raised by a man that loved to research. Daddy had an office full of books and articles, and when the computer came out and printers…all we need to do was make sure Daddy had paper and printer ink.

As I grow in knowledge, I like to share. Trust I will research several peoples perspective on what I’m looking into to determine what seems to be accurate.

More and more I am finding people in Vegas not interested in what I have discovered. It’s like the are used to their understanding and can’t or won’t grasp that things are not done the same in 2022 as it is as in 2012. It’s like it goes in one ear and out the other and the shut down the conversation without honest consideration.

I especially researching people to find out what is being said or what their online presence looks like. I want to know as much information before I would consider doing business. That seems to be foreign to people and offensive it appears.

Am I the only when who wants to know what can be found on the internet, to determine if I am current with my understanding of how the industry of arts and entertainment works in 2022?

When I share my thoughts on something like the production of a piece, a distraction during a performance, the vocals of a singer… I am being mean, disrespectful or don’t know what I’m talking about. 🤔

Are you coachable when it comes to your craft. Will you allow someone to share their opinions or educate you on something you don’t know. Can you be coached on your presentation or how social media works in promotions. There is so much to learn in how the Arts & Entertainment game works today and it’s very different than in the past.

If you want to grow in who you are, you may need to listen to the thoughts and opinions of someone outside your circle but apart of your industry or business.

Who do you respect as an expert in you industry that you will listen to?

Are you coachable?
