🌟 What’s the Story Behind My Nickname? — Lady Flava
Some people are given nicknames.
I became mine.
I didn’t just wake up one day and decide to be called Lady Flava.
She emerged. She evolved.
She was born in a coffee house in Seattle…
…and she became the heartbeat of a movement.

☕ Flava Coffee House: Where It All Began
Back in the early 2000s, I opened a vibrant little space called Flava Coffee House in Seattle.
It wasn’t just about lattes and pastries—though we had those, too.
It was a sanctuary for expression.
A home for indie artists, poets, singers, and creatives of all kinds who didn’t have a stage anywhere else.
We hosted open mics, featured authors, and created a vibe that was eclectic, electric, and soul-stirring.
People would walk in and say, “This place has FLAVA!”
And I?
Well—I was the Lady holding it down.
💁🏽♀️ And so… Lady Flava was born.
She was the emcee, the encourager, the curator of vibes.
She believed in the underdog artist, the quiet creative, the dreamer with something to say.
Lady Flava stood for authenticity, community, and artistic freedom.
I became known in the indie music and book world as someone who saw the unseen and cheered them forward.
Over the years, the brand grew—from coffee house to radio shows, blog reviews, music consulting, event hosting, and more.
But Lady Flava was never just a name.
She was—and is—a mission.
🖤 What She Represents Today
Now, Lady Flava has taken on a new chapter…
She’s no longer just rooted in the arts.
She is also a Wellness Advocate, Elder Supporter, and Life Storyteller.
She still lifts up voices, still walks with purpose—but now she does it from a place of healing and soul-care.
Leopard print. Sunflowers. White hair. A gentle voice with a powerful purpose.
That’s Lady Flava.
That’s me.
And I’m proud of the journey that led me here.
