🍜 The Birthday Noodle Tradition I Never Knew I Was Keeping
Simply Flava Chronicle
I recently learned something beautiful from my friend Mom. In Chinese and Filipino tradition, you eat noodles on your birthday — long noodles for a long life. The longer, the better. You don’t cut them, because that’s like cutting short your blessings.
She laughed and said even spaghetti counts. 🍝
Then it hit me — I’ve been doing that frequently throughout my life without realizing it. Whether it was Chinese food, pho, or spaghetti and meatballs, noodles always found their way onto my birthday plate. Maybe it wasn’t coincidence. Maybe my spirit just knew.
Now it’s official — noodles are part of my birthday ritual. A bowl of warmth, a wish for longevity, and a reminder that life — just like noodles — is best when you let it stretch and flow.
