ATasteOfFlava| Embarking On My Healing Journey

Thursday A Taste of Flava

Life feels a little different.

Now that I’ve had surgery, I’m grateful for the new pain. That sounds crazy, I know. But I’m looking at this pain differently. My hope is that it will ease as I heal, instead of being that constant pain I was living with before surgery.

That gives me something to look forward to.

My surgeon’s nurse called to check on me, which I’m grateful for. I have three or four different kinds of pain medication, and honestly, I wasn’t sure how to use them effectively. She explained the schedule, and so far, so good. I’m not struggling as much today.

I also figured out how to use my gait belt to lift my leg. Yesterday, I couldn’t figure that thing out at all. 🤣 Today, it finally clicked. Little things feel like accomplishments right now.

It’s been a chilled day. My youngest daughter came to visit, and we all enjoyed having her here. Mariko and Kiki have been great about helping me, too. I’m grateful for the ways my family is showing up while I find my rhythm.

Tonight, I’m looking forward to a good night’s sleep. šŸ«°šŸ¼ And each day, I’m hoping to keep the pain under control as I keep getting up and walking around my tower.

I know every day may feel a little different. Today, I’m grateful it feels more manageable.

Just checking in with a little update after hip surgery.
