đż The Body in Recovery Mode
When youâve lived with chronic pain, illness, emotional trauma, or any form of sustained stress, your body goes into a kind of survival mode. Your nervous system becomes hyper-alert. Your appetite changes. Your digestion slows. Your body puts energy into coping, not nourishing.
And even when things start to settle⌠the body doesnât always get the memo.
Iâve been practicing mindfulness and healing meditations for a while nowâfocused on soothing my pain, calming my nerves, and inviting healing into my body. But today, something shifted.
What if I stopped asking my body to âheal,â
and instead gave it permission to return to normal?
⨠The Mind-Body Connection
When we stay in healing mode too long, we can unintentionally teach our bodies that weâre still in danger. We focus so much on repair that we forget to make space for restoration.
Our bodies need to hear:
âWeâre safe now.â âWeâre not broken anymore.â âItâs okay to feel peace. Itâs okay to feel normal again.â
Thatâs the power of recovery:
Not just fixing what was hurtâbut welcoming back what was missing.
Appetite. Joy. Movement. Ease.
đľ What This Shift Looks Like
For me, this might mean:
Changing my meditation language to reflect wholeness, not injury Adding gentle rituals before eatingâlike deep breaths, warm tea, or kind words to my belly Reframing my mindset from âIâm still healingâ to âI am whole and returning to balanceâ
đ A Message for Anyone Who Can Relate
If youâve been stuck in recoveryâwhether physically, emotionally, or spirituallyâplease know this:
You donât have to fight forever.
Your body is allowed to soften.
You are allowed to feel well again.
You are not brokenâyou are becoming.
Give yourself permission to step out of the storm⌠and into a new kind of normal.
