Leading by Example, Letting Go of the Rest

For a long time, I worried about my coworkers—trying to help, trying to fix, trying to resolve what wasn’t getting done. My heart wanted to make it easier for everyone, but the truth is, that weight wasn’t mine to carry.

This week, I made a shift. I put my sunflower blinders on and focused on my own work. I kept the phones flowing when I was on them, I welcomed patients with kindness, I supported the medical assistants, and I stayed on top of my front desk tasks. And you know what? It felt good. It felt freeing.

I’m still a team player. I’ll always step up when someone needs a hand, and I’ll always keep the team alerted to changes. That’s who I am. But I no longer interject myself into what others are not doing. Instead, I lead by example.

And that is enough. 🌻

Reflection

Sometimes freedom comes from letting go of what isn’t yours to fix. Leading with consistency, kindness, and presence is the best way to guide a team—without carrying the weight of everyone else’s choices.
