Evening A Taste of Flava

Evening A Taste of Flava
A Long Day, and I’m Finally in My Tower

This day went by fast at work. Before I knew it, I had to clock out at 2:30pm to head to my pre-op surgery clearance appointment.

I got there a little early, and it was a longer appointment than normal. There were a variety of things to check off on my surgeon’s list, including an EKG.

Thank God, I only had to climb onto that examination table one time for the EKG. The doctor was able to do the rest of my physical while I was sitting down. When moving hurts, something like that makes a difference. I’m grateful.

I got my flu shot before leaving that part of the appointment, then headed over to have my labs done. Some were ordered by my surgeon, and my primary care doctor had thrown in a few more. I also did a urine test and had lab work to check my kidneys again. That’s something we need to keep an eye on.

The blood draw went well. The same tech has drawn my blood the last three times, and she knows exactly how to get it on the first try. I have thin veins that like to move around, so I appreciate someone who knows how to work with them!

But by the time I got home, I was in so much pain. All I wanted was to get upstairs and lie down. My body said, “You’re going to have to wait.”

I had my grandbaby bring me my pain medicine, water, and a couple of bean burritos so I could get some food in my stomach. Then I sat and gave the medicine time to ease the pain. Thankfully, it helped.

At 7:30pm, I started up the stairs.

At 7:48pm, I finally made it to my tower.

Yes, eighteen minutes. Several stops. Those stairs took what little energy I had left.

Let me tell you, I am absolutely exhausted and ready to call it a night.

I’m late with this blog, but I thought I would give you a little update on my day. 🤣

Good Night,
