Wednesday A Taste of Flava 🌻
The day after surgery, and I am home in my tower.
Everything went well, and all in all, I’m doing really well. My pain level is down drastically. I know some of that relief is from the medication I was given before, during, and after surgery. My team warned me that days three and four could be the hardest.
I’m taking my post-surgery medication as directed, and I’m able to get up and walk with minimal pain. There’s a pulling feeling on my right side, but this pain is so different from what I’ve been living with.
We’ll see what next week feels like. Today, I’m going to enjoy the relief in this moment.
It’s a beautiful, windy morning, with rain expected here and there. I’m in great spirits. I feel good about my surgery and hopeful about the recovery ahead.
My goal today is to get up every hour while I’m awake and walk, and to do the physical therapy exercises I was sent home with three times, as instructed. I am determined to play my role in the success of my recovery.
That also means giving myself patience. I can be determined and still give my body time to heal.
It’s all about my daily intention and recognizing my daily blessings. Today, being home, moving with less pain, and feeling hopeful are blessings I’m grateful for.
