Blog Challenge |60+|Why I Enjoy Sharing My Thoughts

What do you enjoy most about writing?

The Evolution of My Creative Voice

For many years, I believed I would write a book titled The Life of an Artist Cheerleader. It was a project I worked on intermittently, but somewhere along the way, the direction kept shifting. At first, I thought I had lost interest. But looking back, I wonder—did I really lose interest, or did the idea of writing that particular book simply fade as my passions evolved?

I’ve had my WordPress site for years, and eventually, I decided to channel my thoughts there instead. The experts often say, “Just start and tweak it as you go along.” So, that’s what I did.

At first, I loved sharing insights about the Indie Arts and Entertainment Scene, drawing from my professional experiences and years of involvement, including my time doing online radio. I had a unique perspective to offer, and I thought my target audience would find value in my voice.

But something surprising happened. The people I wanted to reach weren’t engaging with my posts. Instead, I noticed a growing interest in the pieces where I shared personal life experiences. My reflections on the everyday and my own journey seemed to resonate far more deeply.

And that’s how my 60+ brand was born.

I realized that I didn’t need to confine myself to just one topic, even one as meaningful as the arts. While I will always support the arts, I no longer feel tied down to it as my only focus. As Lady Flava, I’ve freed myself to write about whatever comes to mind—whatever moves me in the moment.

Now, I write from the perspective of a 60+ seasoned soul, sharing my thoughts on life, growth, and the beauty of evolving as a person. Writing has become a joy again because there are no limitations on my voice or style. I want my readers to hear me in every word I write.

It’s liberating to write without boundaries, and it’s deeply fulfilling to connect with readers who appreciate the authenticity of my journey. I may not be writing The Life of an Artist Cheerleader anymore, but in many ways, my blog has become the living, breathing evolution of that story—and so much more.

This is my voice, unfiltered and untethered.

Join me on this journey…
