Who are your current most favorite people?

“My Peace” — The Person Who Feels Like Home
You know, life will hand you a whole cast of characters — some unforgettable, some you wish you could forget, and a rare few who slip into your world so effortlessly that you don’t even realize they’ve become your peace… until one quiet moment when you finally feel yourself exhale.
I was thinking about this WordPress prompt:
Who are your current favorite people?
But let’s be honest — I don’t need a list.
I’ve got one.
And that one is enough.
There is something powerful about a person who doesn’t just walk into your life, but walks with you. Someone who knows your seasons — the soft ones, the stormy ones, the days where you stand tall and the days you fold. Someone who doesn’t try to fix you, but reminds you you’re not broken.
That’s My Peace.
It’s wild how after all these years — fifty years of knowing and growing, drifting and reconnecting, living whole separate lives and somehow still finding our way back — the rhythm between us never lost its beat. Time didn’t ruin anything; it refined it. Like two soul-fragments that remembered each other before we did.
And here’s the part I treasure the most:
Being around him feels like a deep breath I didn’t know I was holding.
No performing. No managing. No proving.
Just peace.
A quiet place to land in a loud world.
So while the prompt asked me about “people”… I’ll answer in singular.
My favorite person is the one who brings me calm without even trying.
The one whose presence settles my spirit.
The one who cheers for my growth, celebrates my healing, and doesn’t get scared when my edges show.
Everyone should be so lucky to have a “My Peace.”
And if you’ve got one, honor that.
Life is too short not to recognize the person who feels like home.
