The Standard You Bring Will Always Reveal the People Around You

Some days, you walk into work and the space tells on everybody who came before you.

Pens everywhere.

Paper clips like confetti.

Mail stacked like someone was building a fort.

Trash overflowing.

And I stood there thinking, “This is what we’re doing today?”

But here’s the thing about me:

I can’t function in chaos.

So before anything else — before messages, patients, or phones — I set my space in order.

Not because I’m the boss.

Not because someone told me to.

But because the standard I bring is part of who I am.

And today something interesting happened.

A young person worked beside me, and kept their entire workspace clean.

All day.

No extra piles.

No trail of random supplies.

No “I’ll get to it later.”

She rose to the energy I walked in with.

That’s when it hit me:

People tell you who they are when you give them a standard to respond to.

Some people get intimidated by order.

Some get irritated.

Some ignore it because messy is all they know.

But others — like Raven today — feel relieved by it.

They breathe easier.

They work clearer.

They match the rhythm.

Not everyone will adjust.

Not everyone wants to grow.

But when someone shows you they can rise?

You take note.

Because it’s not about the desk.

It’s about mindset.

Respect.

Pride.

Energy.

Your standard will always reveal the people around you.

Some will resist it.

Some will avoid it.

And some will surprise you in the best way.
