Fridayās A Taste of Flava
Dear Friends,
I am sitting here in my tower enjoying a warm cup of Cowboy Coffee.
The morning is cloudy and quiet. So far, only Rascal has made an appearanceāand he sped by like a little lightning bolt. I barely had time to say, āGood morning!ā before he disappeared. š
As I sit here, I have a lot swirling around in my head.
For more than two and a half years, I have been living with pain and increasing mobility issuesāand I still do not have a clear resolution.
That is a long time to keep adjusting.
A long time to wonder what your body will allow you to do from one day to the next.
A long time to explain the pain, attend appointments, try different things, wait for answers, and keep hoping someone will finally connect all the pieces.
I do not want to go into all the medical details this morning. I simply want to acknowledge what it feels like to be the patient living through it.
Some days I feel hopeful.
Some days I feel frustrated.
Some days I question whether I have done enoughāor whether something I did made things worse.
And some days I am simply tired of having to think about every step before I take it.
Still, here I am.
I got a good nightās sleep. I woke up stiff, but the pain is doable. I took my morning medications, made my Cowboy Coffee, and settled into my tower for another day.
I may not have all the answers yet, but I am still showing up for my life.
I am tiredābut I am not defeated.
And this morning, that is enough.
