Today was a good day.
I found myself back in the Cerebrovascular (CV) clinic—a space I hadn’t worked in regularly for over a year. I used to love being here. Back then, it felt like my home base: steady, calm, and familiar. Over time, I shifted into the bustling world of Neurosurgery Complex Spine. The pace was fast, the energy intense, and I adapted quickly. In fact, I became really good up there.
But being in CV again today reminded me of something I didn’t know I was missing—peace.
Even when this clinic is busy, there’s a calmness to it. The energy is softer, the flow more grounded. And it’s not just about patient volume or workload—it’s about how I feel when I’m here. I’m not bracing myself. I’m not pushing to keep up. I’m simply present.
It made me think about how environments shape us. Certain spaces bring out certain parts of our spirit. In the chaos of Neurosurgery, I’ve learned to be sharp, quick, resilient. In CV, I’m reminded of my warmth, my ease, and the importance of stillness even in motion.
Maybe that’s what today gave me—a quiet reminder that I can be both.
I can move with urgency and still crave peace. I can thrive under pressure and still cherish the calm. And every now and then, it’s powerful to return to a place that brings back the gentle version of yourself.
Because that version matters too.
What about you?
Have you ever returned to a space that reminded you of a gentler time in your life?
Did it awaken something in you?
Let’s start a conversation.
