🌻 Fabulous Flava Saturdays:

Calm at the Lake, Sweet Treats, and Simple Joys

This Saturday unfolded in the way it was meant to. After dropping K off at her College Prep class, I felt pulled down the hill to the lake. The empath in me needed that grounding — and as soon as I parked, I felt the calm wash over me.

Even with joggers, dog walkers, and moms with toddlers passing by, I felt like I was there all by myself. The sky stretched wide above me, clouds shifting into their own patterns, and fall began to make her quiet entrance in the trees nearby. It was a moment of stillness that fed my soul.

Of course, life always brings a little humor too — like the woman who bumped into a paddle board while saving a quote from her book. A reminder that presence matters, even in simple moments.

After K’s class, we stopped by Delite Bakery, our favorite Filipino bakery we used to live just a block from. The glass cases full of cakes, donuts, and empanadas felt like a sweet hug from the past. We picked up a few treats before they closed, and of course, Kiki needed a new notebook and planner — so we made a Target run on the way home.

Now, back at home, my heart feels full. This Saturday was calm, sweet, and simple. Exactly what I needed.

Fabulous Flava Takeaway: Sometimes joy looks like calm by the lake, a bag of bakery treats, and a stop at Target. Saturdays don’t need to be big to be beautiful — they just need to be full of what grounds you.
