Laughter Is Good Medicine

This morning, Chip the squirrel gave me another reason to laugh.

He was running through the trees, chasing a little bird with all the confidence in the world. The bird simply flew into the cedar tree… and suddenly Chip disappeared into the branches.

He’s in this picture.

Can you see him?

I know exactly where he is, but he blends in so well with the tree that it almost becomes a game of “Where’s Chip?” 🤣

It reminded me that sometimes the simplest moments in life bring the biggest smiles.

Science tells us that laughter is much more than an emotional response. It actually benefits our health in remarkable ways.

A good laugh can:

  • Relax tense muscles.
  • Reduce stress hormones.
  • Boost your immune system.
  • Increase your body’s natural endorphins.
  • Improve blood flow and heart health.
  • Help us gain perspective during difficult moments.

But one of my favorite benefits is something science and life both teach us…

Laughter brings people together.

It creates connection.

It eases tension.

It reminds us that even on challenging days, there is still room for joy.

The past few months have brought me my share of pain and uncertainty, yet my Tower Window Wildlife continues to make me smile.

Whether it’s Chip and Dale chasing each other through the trees…

Poe supervising the neighborhood…

Musty convinced he’s going to catch every squirrel through the window…

Or a tiny finch singing its heart out…

These little moments remind me that laughter truly is good medicine.

So today, find something that makes you smile.

Watch a funny video.

Call a friend.

Play with your pet.

Or simply spend a few minutes observing nature.

Your mind, your body, and your heart will thank you.

As Proverbs 17:22 reminds us:

“A cheerful heart is good medicine.”

Today, I’m grateful for Chip… even if I can’t find him in my own picture. 🤣🐿️

Blessings,
Lady Flava 💜🌻
