🐾 The Cats Are My Hearts

Today’s WordPress prompt asks:

Share a photo of your pet and tell us one thing that makes them uniquely them.

Well, technically, these are not my pets. 😁

They are my grandcats.

Musty and Ghini belong to my grandbaby Kiki, but somehow they have both decided that Flava in Her Tower belongs to them too. 🤣

Musty, my tabby grandcat, spends the most time with me in my Tower.

He’ll spend a little time looking out the window, checking out what is happening in the world, but Musty has other priorities.

Napping. 😂

He can curl himself up and sleep just about anywhere. Most days, he simply wants to be nearby. He doesn’t need much attention or entertainment. He just settles in and keeps Nanny Flava company.

Then there is Ghini.

Ghini is younger and part Maine Coon. He comes and goes as he likes.

Unlike Musty, Ghini takes that Tower window VERY seriously. 🤣

He notices everything happening outside.

He watches the birds.

He talks to the birds. 😂

If something moves outside that window, Ghini needs to investigate. He may sit on the windowsill, climb around the cat tree or stretch himself into whatever position gives him the best view.

But he doesn’t stay long.

He comes upstairs, checks on the neighborhood, handles whatever cat business brought him to the Tower, and eventually he is gone again. 😂

These grandcats are my hearts. ❤️

I know a lot of people who don’t like cats or simply aren’t comfortable around them.

I get it.

Cats aren’t everybody’s thing.

But we have had cats for most of my daughters’ and grandbaby’s lives. They have simply been part of our family.

I love their independence.

They don’t need constant attention, yet somehow they know when to come near you. They each have their own personality, their own routines and definitely their own opinions.

And although they belong to Kiki, they have their own relationship with Nanny Flava too. ❤️

As I choose to live a more solitude life while my body heals, I appreciate their companionship.

I never really feel alone.

There is usually a grandcat sleeping somewhere nearby, walking through my Tower, watching something outside my window or apparently having a full conversation with a bird I cannot understand. 🤣

They make me laugh.

They give me companionship.

And they make my Tower feel even more like home.

Musty and Ghini.

Two completely different personalities.

Two very loved grandcats.

And both uniquely themselves. 🐾❤️🌻
