From Chasing Numbers to Choosing Connection: My Lady Flava Evolution
Once upon a time, I was all in for the indie artist community. Being Lady Flava meant late nights promoting music, attending events, reviewing books, hosting radio shows, and championing unknown talent. I loved it. I loved the artists. I loved the energy. I didn’t make money doing it, but my heart was invested — it felt like purpose.
Back then, I believed growth meant numbers. I chased followers, responded to every comment, followed influencers hoping they’d notice me, joined webinars on “how to grow your audience,” and kept a close eye on engagement stats. When the numbers went up, I felt validated. When they went down, I felt the pressure to do more.
But here’s the truth: 5,000 followers meant nothing if only a handful engaged with me. I realized I was spending more time chasing approval than enjoying the art and connections I loved. And the hardest pill to swallow? The very artists I publicly supported rarely supported me in return.
Then came Vegas — and with it, the slow death of my passion. I poured energy into entertainers who didn’t reciprocate, who used my love and commitment without valuing it. What started as support turned into dysfunctional connections that brought gaslighting, criticism, and being put down.
Meanwhile, the younger, tech-driven crowd lived online — constantly pushing content, chasing trends, and playing a game I no longer wanted to play. I realized I didn’t have the desire to compete in that space, nor did I want to keep investing in relationships that drained me instead of lifting me up.
Today, Lady Flava still exists — but she has evolved. I no longer chase numbers or try to please algorithms. I’m not running after recognition or fighting to be seen in an overcrowded, noisy space. Instead, I choose connection over quantity. I write for those who care enough to read. I share wellness, life lessons, and reflections that come from lived experience.
I’m in a season where my worth isn’t defined by stats. I’m building something authentic with Lady Flava Wellness — slowly, intentionally, and joyfully. The right people will find me, and when they do, we’ll connect in a way that matters.
Because at the end of the day, numbers fade. But genuine connection? That lasts.

P.S. The arts will forever hold a piece of my heart. Should I ever step back into that world to feel the rhythm and energy in person, you can count on me to capture it in a signature Lady Flava News review — soulful, honest, and poured straight from the heart.
