God’s Art, Right Outside My Window

One of the quiet blessings of working from home in my tower is getting to witness how much the sky changes — sometimes minute by minute — right in front of my eyes. Even on days when my body hurts and my tower is warm and cozy, I can still feel the weather shifting outside. The sky tells on it every time.

I’ve always been fascinated by the sky. I call it God’s Art. It’s never the same. Not once. No matter which direction you’re facing, there’s always a story unfolding — light, shadow, movement, mood.

My daughter teases me because when we’re riding in the car, she can tell exactly what will make me reach for my phone. Especially when we’re driving south and Mt. Rainier shows herself — clear, bold, breathtaking. It never gets old. Ever.

I believe there’s something healing about noticing beauty — especially the kind that doesn’t ask anything from you. Just looking up, pausing for a second, letting your eyes rest on what’s already there.

I’d encourage you today to stop and pay attention to your surroundings.

Just noticing can be the whisper of calmness you didn’t know you needed in that moment.
