Thursday – A Sip of Flava
“A Million People and No Chaos”
I watched it from home.
Warm.
Sinus pressure manageable.
Coffee nearby.
And downtown? A sea of blue and green.

They said nearly a million people lined those streets. A million. That’s not a crowd — that’s a statement.
What struck me wasn’t just the numbers. It was the patience.
People stood out there for hours. In the cold. Waiting. Kids on shoulders. Flags wrapped around coats. Coffee cups in hand. And nobody looked angry. Nobody looked restless. They were just… happy to be there.
Waiting for their team.
When the trucks finally started rolling — open tops, buses, players waving like kings for a day — the roar moved like a wave. You could feel it even through a screen. And I smiled when I spotted Darold early on. I love when you can recognize someone by their energy before the camera zooms in.
But here’s what stayed with me.
A million people. Different ages. Different backgrounds. Different beliefs. Shoulder to shoulder. Getting along.
No drama.
No division.
Just shared joy.
For a few hours, nobody cared what you did for work. Nobody asked who you voted for. Nobody debated anything. They just stood together, proud of their team, proud of their city.
That’s rare.
It reminded me that unity still exists. Sometimes it just needs a reason to show up.

Football brought them together. Celebration kept them steady. Community held it all in place.
And me? I got to witness it from a soft space. No elbows in my ribs. No cold toes. Just perspective. Watching a city breathe together.
Sometimes your sip of the day isn’t about slowing down. It’s about noticing something bigger than yourself.
A million people in the streets — and peace in the air.
That’s something to sit with.
