When I think about confidence, my mind immediately goes to the neurosurgeons I work with in complex spine and cerebrovascular surgery. These highly skilled professionals perform intricate procedures that change lives—relieving extreme back pain, removing tumors, taming tremors, and securing aneurysms. And that’s just the foundation of what they do on a regular basis.

Many times, I see them in the clinic or passing through the hallways, their focus absorbed in their phones, reviewing charts, consulting cases, or coordinating care. But when they look up and speak, I feel privileged to be in their presence. Their words carry the weight of knowledge, precision, and an unwavering belief in their abilities.

These surgeons aren’t just good at what they do—they are among the best in the country. Patients travel from neighboring states, across the U.S., and even internationally to seek their expertise. Many are award-winning leaders in their field, continuously pushing the boundaries of medicine.

To perform at their level, confidence isn’t optional—it’s essential. Every time they step into an operating room, they must trust their knowledge, skills, and team. The recommendations they give patients come with the expectation of a positive outcome. Even in experimental procedures, confidence is the guiding force that allows them to push forward.
