Tower Window Moments with Lady Flava

Wednesday Night Storm

Tonight the wind is pushing hard against the townhouse, steady and determined. Every few minutes it gathers itself and arrives with a blast of energy, reminding us that nature still runs the show out here in Seattle.

From my tower window the rain is scattered across the glass, tiny droplets blurring the neighborhood lights and softening the view of the trees outside. The wind moves through their branches like a restless conversation.

The temperature says 52 degrees, but the wind has other plans. Tonight it feels closer to winter than spring. My hips and shoulders can feel the change in the air, the way storms settle into joints before the sky even finishes telling its story.

So I did what most Pacific Northwest souls do on nights like this.

I got warm.

Electric blanket on.

Candles nearby just in case the lights decide to take a break.

Laptop charged.

And the quiet comfort of being safe inside while the storm passes through.

Outside the rain keeps tapping the tower window, pushed sideways by the wind. Across the street, apartment windows glow softly through the gray evening. Life continues behind those lights while the weather puts on its show.

What caught my eye tonight were the early cherry blossoms on the tree below my window.

Delicate pink blooms swaying in the storm.

Spring doesn’t arrive politely in Seattle. It pushes its way in between cold rain and restless wind, reminding us that change often shows up before conditions are perfect.

Those blossoms are holding on tonight.

And from my tower window, I’m holding on to the quiet beauty of the moment.

Storm outside.

Warmth inside.

And the reminder that even fragile things can weather a little wind.
