Tuesday Evening Reflection

Tuesday Evening Reflection

Today was better than yesterday.

My body is still not where I want it to be, but the pain has settled down enough for me to enjoy the view outside my tower window and make it through my workday.

One of my favorite moments happened while I was helping a patient.

She thought she was being scheduled for an injection and said, “Baby, my back hurts so bad, I needs this injection.”

I laughed and told her I understood because I need an injection too.

Without missing a beat, she replied, “Come on, we can hold each other’s hand as sisters in pain.”

And just like that, two strangers connected over something neither of us wanted to have in common.

It made me smile.

Sometimes we think we’re the only ones struggling, hurting, waiting, or hoping for relief. Then a conversation reminds us that there are people all around us carrying their own burdens.

Today reminded me that a little kindness, a little humor, and a little understanding can go a long way.

Maybe that’s why I enjoy working with people.

Even on hard days, there are still moments that make me smile.

Have a wonderful evening.
