How Can Two People Be So Different… Yet Arrive at the Same Truth?

The other day something happened that made me smile.

I had already written my Wednesday Real Talk about distractions and becoming our best selves.

Later, I came across a vlog by Shedeur Sanders.

He began talking about distractions too.

At first I laughed because I thought, “Well, we must have planned this together!” 🤣

But then he said something that made me stop.

He talked about identifying the why behind our distractions.

That made me realize something.

Here we are…

Two different people.

Two different generations.

Two different life experiences.

Two different reasons for talking about distractions.

Yet somehow…

We arrived at the same topic.

His “why” may be about protecting his goals, his career, and his future.

My “why” comes from getting older and realizing my peace, my time, and my energy are precious.

Different whys.

Same truth.

It made me wonder how often this happens in life.

Maybe we spend too much time focusing on our differences and not enough time recognizing the wisdom we share.

Sometimes someone younger can teach us something.

Sometimes someone older can teach us something.

And sometimes…

People walking completely different paths discover the very same truth.

Wisdom doesn’t belong to one generation.

It belongs to anyone willing to pay attention.

So today I leave you with this question…

Have you ever heard someone from a completely different generation say something that made you stop and think… “I believe that too”?

Maybe we have more in common than we realize.
