From High School to Hip Doctors

Dear Friends,

Today has turned out to be a beautiful morning.

It is pretty quiet here in the Tower. So far, only Rascal, my young squirrel, and Tom, a teenage crow, have stopped by to visit.

We are short-staffed at work this morning. Something must be going around because even some of our normally reliable staff have called out.

Thankfully, the phones have been calm.

I am sitting here sipping my Cowboy Coffee and chuckling to myself about how life plays out.

My Peace and I have known each other since we were 15 years old. Now, we are both 66—and both dealing with hip pain. 🤣

On September 4, he will see an orthopedic doctor, and I will see my physiatrist. Both appointments are intended to help determine the core area and cause of our pain.

Just look at us.

We went from being teenagers together to comparing hip pain and doctor appointments. We are truly aging together—from high school to hip doctors. 🤣

Then something happened at work that truly warmed my heart.

After a long absence, SonShine brought back his Animal Fact Time. Before the Ms T’s fiasco, he shared his weekly animal facts with all the clinics. Everyone loved them so much that staff began sending him requests.

Today, he returned with a fact about the leopard seal—and even referenced the penguin from Happy Feet.

SonShine knows how much I love leopard anything. He also knows I post penguins because K says I waddle like one. So yes, I noticed both references, and I had to acknowledge his return with a big YAY! and a heart. ❤️

I cannot say for certain that he chose the leopard seal because of me, but it certainly felt like a quiet little nod.

The blue sky has broken through, the phones are calm, my pain is doable, and I am in good spirits.

Sometimes a beautiful morning is not about anything grand. It is simply a collection of small moments that make you smile, warm your heart, and remind you that life is still unfolding in the most interesting ways.
