This morning, as I sat by the lake with my window down,

an older couple — maybe in their 80s — walked by.

They smiled, waved, and said, “Good morning.”

That simple kindness felt like sunshine on a cloudy day.

It’s a reminder that warmth doesn’t only come from the weather —

sometimes it comes from the people who still take the time to connect.

Life | Rain or Shine at the Lake

In Seattle, you really can’t let the weather stop you.

The last time I sat at the lake, a coworker said,

“You’ve got to get it in while the weather’s still nice enough.”

I smiled and told them, “I’d still sit here, even if it was raining.”

There’s something about the lake — the stillness, the rhythm of the water —

that reminds me peace isn’t about perfection.

🎃 A Little Friendly Competition

J called me on FaceTime while she was out grocery shopping — we ended up watching her neighbor set up his giant Halloween decorations: a 10-foot ghost and a pumpkin skeleton. By the time she was ready to go inside, she was already plotting what to put up in her yard next. 😆 It’s the little joys and playful rivalries that make life brighter.
