Monday Real Talk
Who Are The People You Spend The Most Time With?
There comes a point in life where you have to sit down and ask yourself a hard question.
Who are the people I spend the most time with?
Not just physically.
Mentally.
Emotionally.
Energetically.
Have you ever really looked at it?
What is their character?
What are they drawn to?
What do they talk about consistently?
Are your conversations deep and life-building?
Or are they fun but accountability-free?
There’s nothing wrong with laughter.
There’s nothing wrong with ease.
But are you growing?
What do your people bring into your life?
Peace?
Drama?
Encouragement?
Competition?
Comfort?
Stagnation?
And here’s the harder part…
What do you bring into theirs?
Do you challenge each other to grow?
Do you push beyond “right now” toward something stronger, more focused, more intentional?
Or are you all sitting in the same stuck space… keeping each other comfortable in it?
On my healing journey, I had to walk this path.
It wasn’t easy.
I had to identify the “why” behind certain connections.
Why was I drawn there?
What need was being met?
What was I tolerating?
What was I learning?
Some relationships were seasonal.
Some were lessons.
Some were lifelines.
Some were distractions.
This kind of reflection requires honesty.
Not judgment.
Not blame.
Just awareness.
Because the people closest to you shape your thinking, your standards, your habits, and your future.
There comes a time in all of our lives when we need to take inventory.
Not to cut people off in anger.
But to understand:
Is this connection helping me heal, grow, and rise?
Or is it keeping me where I used to be?
That’s Real Talk.
