Wednesday – A Taste of Flava
The Simple Things
Good Morning Friends,
This morning reminded me that life doesn’t always go according to plan.
My work laptop decided it wasn’t going to turn on, and for a few moments I thought my workday was going to start with a major problem. Thankfully, after a little patience and a hard restart, it finally came back to life.
As I looked around my little tower kitchenette, I decided I was going to make split pea soup.
I laughed because I didn’t have onions, celery, garlic, or broth. I had split peas, carrots, water, veggie seasoning, Himalayan salt, and black pepper.
So I smiled and thought…
“We’ll do with what we got.”
Isn’t that how life is sometimes?
We don’t always have everything we wish we had. Sometimes we’re missing ingredients, opportunities, answers, or even time.
But that doesn’t mean we stop.
We make the best meal we can with what is in front of us. We solve the problems we can solve. We keep putting one foot in front of the other.
I’ve learned that some of life’s sweetest moments don’t come from having everything.
They come from appreciating enough.
Today my tower will smell like homemade split pea soup. My laptop is working, I have food cooking while I work, and I have another opportunity to enjoy this beautiful Seattle morning.
Sometimes… that’s more than enough.
Have a beautiful Wednesday.
Blessings,
Lady Flava 🌻
