ATasteOfFlava|The Weather is Talking to My Body

Tuesday | A Taste of Flava
My Body Knows the Weather Is Changing

Today, my body is less painful, and I’m able to sit comfortably at my work desk.

After the amount of pain I experienced yesterday, I’m grateful for the difference. I’m not completely pain-free, but today feels much more manageable—and I will gladly take that.

The weather outside looks like it’s fighting over which direction it wants to go. There is blue sky and sunshine, but the clouds are still hanging around. Summer hasn’t completely let go, yet fall is slowly making its presence known.

I think my body started warning me before the weather fully committed to the change.

It’s that time of year.

When you live with arthritis and chronic pain, sometimes your body feels the shift before you can clearly see it outside your window. The aching increases. Your joints become louder. Simple movements take more effort. Then you look outside and realize the weather is changing right along with you.

I’m gathering the information I need to discuss with my doctor on Friday. I’m looking forward to seeing him, talking through what I’ve been experiencing, and learning what direction he wants me to take next.

For today, I’m sitting comfortably at my desk, looking out my tower window and appreciating that my body has given me a little relief.

The weather may not know what it wants to do—but I’m paying attention and preparing myself for the season ahead.

Happy Tuesday
